GIS Design & Planning Engineer
Location: Remote Work
Start date: March / April 2023
Contract Length: 3 Month Rolling (Long Term Projection)
Day Rate: £300 - £400 per day

Allied Resource are currently recruiting for a GIS Design Engineer to work for one of the UK’s leading connectivity providers. The successful candidate will be pivotal in the design / build of a new fibre optic comms network for a major UK rail project, which is being rolled out to ensure coverage for up to 16,000km of high capacity fibre next to the railway. This will be a remote working2 long term contract, with the scope to continue for a number of years. Our client will look at GIS Designers with Rail, Fibre or Civils / Utilities experience for this position, they will be building a collaborative team of people to run this aspect of the project.

Responsibilities:

- Create High-Level Designs that will be passed over to a sub-contractor to complete the field survey & design side.
- Plan and design fibre networks following construction and government standards using 3-GIS design software.
- Collaborate with the team to discuss methodologies and innovative solutions.
- Troubleshoot any issues in an effective manner to ensure the smooth running of the project.
Must Have:

- GIS experience completing desktop designs.
- Rail, Fibre (FTTx) or Civils / Utilities industry experience.
- Ability to work from initiative, using industry knowledge to create innovative solutions
