Planning Engineer

Allied Resource are proud to be working with a very reputable telecommunications contractor based in Essex. Our client now requires a seasoned planning expert on both civils and fibre routes. Taking a solutions-orientated approach, you will be responsible for driving improvements across internal teams, managing key relationships, and directly contributing to the success of their networks.

Responsibilities:
- Analysis of Fibre to the Home drawings and answering of queries from both the internet service provider and local authorities to support build programmes.
- Control quality of survey packs that include pre-planned routes on both fibre and civils, by taking part in joint walkouts with customer representatives ensuring buildability and cost-efficiency.
- Identify and flag engineering difficulties and defects in network plans, suggesting alternative routes.
- Liaise closely with external ISP representatives/Planners from receipt to agreement of final job packs, and complete as-builts.
- Manage and govern works in compliance with internal and external guidelines and codes of practice.

Must Have:
- Strong experience in FTTX route surveying and defect identification, with a continuous focus on civils avoidance methods.
- Excellent eye for detail and strong problem-solving ability.
- Proven ability liaising and negotiating with 3rd party contractors, with knowledge of PIA highly desirable.
- Data manipulation ability in relation to fibre designs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to produce consistent, detailed level of survey, install and as-built documentation.
- Strong computer literacy with high-level excel skills.
- GIS/AutoCAD experience (Advantageous)
